Jerrin Wagstaff (b. 1979, Salt Lake City, UT) received a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Brigham Young University in 2003 and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from California State University, Long Beach in 2006.  Wagstaff’s current body of work addresses the nature of American mythology through the lens of 19th century Romantic landscape painting. His work has been featured in several solo and group shows throughout the country.

In 2024, Wagstaff completed the artist-in-residence program at Utah Museum of Contemporary Art in Salt Lake City, UT which culminated in the solo exhibition American Landscapes.  He has also had solo exhibitions at Modern West, Salt Lake City, UT, Another Year in LA, Los Angeles, CA, and Nox Contemporary, Salt Lake City, UT.  Group exhibitions include: Torrance Art Museum, Torrance, CA; Melissa Morgan Fine Art, Palm Springs, CA; Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento, CA; San Diego Art Institute, San Diego, CA; and CUAC Contemporary Art, Salt Lake City, UT.  

His work has been written about in several publications including Slug Magazine, 15 Bytes, LA Weekly, and Artillery Magazine.

In addition to his professional art practice, Wagstaff has taught for 12 years at colleges and universities in California and Utah. He is also a contributor for the Contemporary Art Digest.  Jerrin Wagstaff is represented by Modern West in Salt Lake City, UT.
